4 Reasons Why You Need To Move To Stay Alive

While leveling through Diablo 3, one thing becomes very, very obvious. If you stand in one place for too long, you’re probably going to die. In D3, movement is key.

There are four big reasons why it’s important to constantly be on the move. Or, in the words of Muhammad Ali…"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee".

Character Class Play-style
Depending on which character class you’re playing will determine exactly how much movement you’ll need diablo 3 items to be doing.

With a wizard, for example, you’re obviously a lot squishier than say, a barbarian. Also, you gain no real benefit from being close to mobs (unless you’re using Spectral Blade or dropping a Frost Nova.) A wizard is going to want to be very mobile throughout any challenging encounter, alternating between attacking and re-positioning himself to be avoiding as much damage as possible while dishing it out.

Wizards are actually the prime example of a class that needs to move to stay alive.  Any time your enemies get too close, you’re probably going to drop a Frost Nova, Teleport away and start lighting them up again from a safe distance…or something similar depending on your chosen skills to get more diablo 3 items.

Melee classes need to move too though. As badass as your Monk might be, sometimes there are just way too many enemies to handle at once and you’re going to want to pick off a couple of the stragglers first to thin the herd before re-engaging the group. Assess each situation as you’re in it and try to determine if re-positioning yourself, or even running away temporarily, is going to make life easier.

Environmental Damage
Whether you’re playing a ranged character or a melee one, you’ll always be in constant danger of standing in the same place for too long. This is for one main reason.

Diablo 3 environment is constantly changing. One second your Barbarian could be standing on solid ground duking it out with a zombie and the next second you might find yourself surrounded by a cloud of poison gas…or fire…or in the path of a meteor… In those cases you definitely need to move, and fast!

You absolutely must be aware of your surroundings and move around accordingly or you’ll take massive amounts of unnecessary damage and make the game far more challenging than it needs to be, which in the higher difficulty modes will absolutely mean the difference between success and failure.

Health Globes
Another important reason to constantly be on the move is health globes. Diablo III isn’t the potion-chugging game that D2 was. Sure, you’ll be able to use a pot every once in a while to fill up your health when things get tough, however the relatively lengthy cool-down of 30 seconds means that there will be a lot of times that you’ll be in need of a health globe to stay alive.

Melee characters will have it a bit easier with picking up health globes and other diablo 3 items, since they’ll be dropping from the mobs they are essentially standing on top of and will often be automatically picked up the second they drop. Wizards, Demon Hunters and ranged Witch Doctors, however, need to be sure to move around the battlefield enough to be scooping them up and topping off their health.

Boss Mechanics
Boss fights are by far the number one situation in which movement is crucial to staying alive. While some boss encounters are certainly more challenging than others, they all require relatively constant movement.

Most bosses have a variety of abilities, some of which will sting a little and others diablo 3 items which will literally melt your face off. You’ll definitely want to avoid the second ones.

Wrap Up
There is absolutely no shame in running away if means that you’ll live to fight again another day. Diablo 3 is hard enough as it is. There’s definitely no need to make it any harder by neglecting to use this crucial defensive strategy!
