Riders of Rohan is the fourth major expansion to The Lord of the Rings Online, and you'll be able to join forces with other players to ride into the Plains of Rohan.
Riders of Rohan is an expansion about departures. We see it in the breaking of Frodo’s Fellowship in the opening chapters of the expansion’s epic story, and we witness Turbine themselves taking their leave of much of the core design that’s sustained their Tolkien-themed MMORPG until now. The old focus on class abilities for LOTRO’s increasingly dated ground combat has passed like rain on the mountain, you might say, as has the old tradition of end-game raids with LOTRO power leveling. In their place rears up a relentless focus on mounted combat and a casual-oriented endgame that involves rebuilding a ruined Rohirrim city. It’s a gamble clearly meant to maintain LOTRO’s relevance in an MMORPG market that’s increasingly crowded with worthy competitors, and for the most part, it paid off.
NEW FEATURES:
1.Experience the Riders of Rohan – Join with the Rohirrim and ride across the sprawling Plains of Rohan; witness the breaking of the Fellowship at Amon Hen; forge alliances with the Ents of Fangorn with LOTRO powerleveling; and aid Éomer, adopted son of Théoden, as he seeks to protect his homeland from the growing Shadow.
2.Introducing Mounted Combat – Ride into Combat atop your loyal War-steed as you defend the people of Rohan from the forces of Isengard and Mordor. Customize your War-steed’s armor and level its skills over time to aid you in mounted defense of King Theoden’s lands. Mount your steed and gather your fellows to fight against Warbands, contingents of roving warg riders that have been scouted all over the Plains of Rohan! It falls to you to head off and defeat this new threat before they over take the land.
3.Advance to level 85 – Continue your legend in the next chapter of The Lord of the Rings Online. Experience new adventures in the epic story, and gain new skills and deeds as you face new challenges on your journey to LOTRO power leveling 85!
